Pink Hill Manor Re-Imagined is Storybook’s take on French Provincial. Working closely with the client & their preferred style, this home features many of the characteristics of the typical french provincial home. A sense of symmetry, arched windows, balcony over a central entryway with decorative wrought iron balustrade.  Colonial windows, french doors, hipped roofs and a central dormer balance the simple elegant stately exterior. While this style is not typically the Storybook look, many of these features are found in our homes in varying combinations. It’s amazing just how much a home can change by tweaking these elements.

Of course budget was still a driving force in respect of design. We had to carefully design around the slope of the site, setback requirements & building height restrictions. Material specifications imposed by the covenant was also a consideration, not to mention an unusually shaped site. The use of weatherboards and colorbond makes this design feel far more homely and inviting than a fully masonry / tile alternative – which is typical for this style of architecture. The bulk has been softened by the use of single story elements, which is not only pleasing to the eye but a development requirement. In the end, Pink Hill manor Re-Imagined is French Provincial with an Australian twist and will be a great addition to the area.
