This project was completed some time ago, proving the timeless nature of the 'Storybook Look'. Remaining fresh & modern without dating unlike so many other architectural trends that continually seem to come and go. A credit to the owners, the success of this project is a mixture of the owner's eye for detail and Storybook's High Character Architecture.
Here is an extension to an existing heritage building in New South Wales. We designed the addition to follow the existing roof line in respect of the height and the width of the project to increase the likelihood of a positive council planning outcome for the owner. Although time consuming, by recreating the existing home in 3D we are able to convey to council the minimal impact the proposal has on the street-scape. Stepping down the site with the slope allowed us to go two storey without going higher than the height of the original single storey home and bringing the living area closer to the yard at the rear of the site increases the enjoyment of the property for the owners.
Following a request from our clients, we have reworked our Design of February "Excelcior Manor" to give it a more traditional feel. With only minor amendments in the roof shapes and colours, the home takes on a completely different look. This highlights the versatility of Storybook Homes to be both Modern & Classic empowering our clients to achieve the feel they best identify with... We prepared a night render to help capture the atmoshpere of their outdoor area - we cant wait to see this one manifest. Check out our Colour Option Post for other images showing different colour combinations.
A Modern twist on Traditional Gothic is the best way to describe this home. The use of arches throughout the design works well with the neutral modern interiors. Split Levels within the home makes the most of the natural slopes of the site & keeps the height of the home within council requirements.
This stunning gabled home in beautiful Eltham follows the natural contours of the land and is the perfect example of a Storybook Split Level Design Solution. The home features cathedral ceilings, 4 bedrooms, 3 living areas, covered alfresco, spacious entry, integrated garage & the largest under house storage area anyone could ever need. The included construction photos help to illustrate how close the constructed home resembles our initial 3D perspectives. A split level design is ideal for sloping sites and reduces the need for excessive cutting or filling.

This split levelled home was designed to very specific developer imposed constraints. With a restrictive covenant, height controls and an unusually shaped building envelope, this home was a challenge for our designers. Solar access & vehicular accommodation was paramount & were decided on early in the design process. We could not be happier with the result & the clients love the design....
