Bed & Breakfast Designs

Bed and Breakfast accommodation is booming in Australia and there is a creative company carving out a reputation through imaginative B & B designs. We at Storybook Cottages have an innovative approach to B & B’s. All attic style, the charming Storybook range has a variety of cottages to suit various applications. The smallest cottage has bed/sitting, bathroom with spa and modest kitchen facilities. Huge cathedral ceilings with high gable and dormer windows flood the room with light, and at night allow guests to gaze up at the moon and stars. Larger more glamorous cottages have romantic upstairs bedrooms with spacious living, kitchen, dining areas and beautiful spa-bathroom facilities.

These cottages are popular as honeymoon suites. The most economical consist of pairs and triples; that is, two or three accommodation units joined in one building. The over-riding design consideration is to create inviting architecture that has a strong, positive first impression. With growing competition success is not a sure thing, you need an edge that will see guests choosing your accommodation over others. You’ve got to “knock their socks off” with the look of the building itself.

We believe that the great majority of guests make their choice based on a favourable first impression backed up by an equally favourable inspection – our cottages delight. Gables, dormer windows, verandahs and charming traditional shapes, with interiors incorporating volumous bright rooms and stunning architectural features, make for a compelling combination.

One of our projects was a honeymoon suite called “Love in the Mist”, situated in Emerald, in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria. The enthusiastic hosts Richard and Rhonda, combined their skills in hospitality with the appeal of this cottage to create a truly successful B & B business.

Do you have a floor plan to look at for Dragonfly cottage?

Hi Sandra. I’ve added a floor plan for a Dragonfly Inspired cottage. The original dragonfly was a B&B design suitable for guest accommodation, while this design is suitable as a family home. Hope this is the sort of thing you are after. Just remember, we custom design for each and every client to their specific needs & budget..
